Former Parker Brent student, Chris Hunger recently shared his journey of how he become a successful builder after completing his Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications with Parker Brent.
Chris also shared his “4 Key Principles of Starting and Running a Successful Construction Company”.
4 Key Principles:
1. Surround yourself with good people. Chris emphasised the importance of being selective of the people you hire as well as rewarding them for their loyalty and commitment which in turn will help your business or company prosper.
2. Work Hard – Don’t Procrastinate! Chris described his daily routine of starting his mornings at 5am and working through to evening. As grueling and long as the working days can be, you will be fulfilled in knowing that by maintaining a strong work ethic your company will grow and be successful.
3. Always be upfront and honest. In today’s world of technology where news travels quickly, be upfront and honest with clients and staff. You’re more likely to build strong long-term relationships with staff and clients by remaining honest and loyal to them.
4. Every day is a school day. You don’t know everything. As the industry and technology is constantly evolving so must the willingness to keep learning.
